{    The cluster donated money to buy wreaths and will take part in Wreaths Across America for deceased veterans on Saturday, Dec. fifteen at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, complete with a bagpiper.|True to its original Mission Statement – To preserve and further Scottish heritage in Michigan and beyond, plus to help organizations and individuals in need – the Scottish American Society of Michigan has been busy raising cash and collecting heat clothing to donate to native charities:}

{“We tend to have 2 main purposes as a group,” says Executive Director, Franklin Dohanyos. “First, we serve as a group where people of Scottish heritage or people that simply like Scottish things can meet as a cluster and have a good time, share a meal, learn additional about Scotland, hear the great Highland Pipes, and have events sort of a Burns Supper, Tartan Day, and a Highland Games. The second reason is to assist charitable organizations and people in need whereas having all this fun. We have a tendency to additionally have a Fine Arts Scholarship named once us at Alma College, to that we have a tendency to donate every year. Our cluster keeps growing as we tend to participate in more and a lot of community events.”|    In December the group donated nearly $250 to The Welcome Inn, a fun and inviting warming center at Starr Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak for the homeless.}
